Meet Karen

A serial entrepreneur, Karen is one of the co-creators of 2 women of-color led, worker-owned cooperative enterprises: Beautifully Fed Food, which celebrates diaspora cuisines, nourishes bodies, feeds souls, and creates healthy communities one delicious bite at a time through the plant-positive culinary classes and food-sovereignty education programs they teach; and Beautifully Fed, a multi-media platform exploring the many ways women of color feed themselves WELL and where they encourage one another to be FULLY fed in all aspects of their lives that matter.

The most fulfilling component of Karen’s work with Beautifully Fed is co-creating programs in partnership with some of the amazing people in her life, including The Language Salóns, a virtual cooperative language learning and conversation group.

Karen graduated from Hampton University, an HBCU with a Bachelors of Science, received her Master of Public Health, (MPH), from the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University, and a Certificate in Culinary Nutrition from the Natural Gourmet Institute.

Meet Laurie

Laurie has been an educator with students ages 5-18 for 10+ years. She has helped a countless number of youth find their voice and purpose through workshops, trainings and in classroom settings. Laurie holds the position of learning specialist at an inclusion school in NYC,  working to differentiate grade level curriculum for the learning needs of atypical students.

Laurie is the creator of Go Girl! the workshop, an educational mental wellness program for young girls. Laurie knows the experience of stifling the fire inside of her because she was told that she was “too much” “too sensitive” and “too loud.” She feels called to encourage and support other women in allowing their light to shine bright and bold and is committed to creating spaces that allow for women to love and honor themselves unapologetically.

Laurie is dedicated to living her best life; a life of true health and happiness, discovered through intention, compassion and love. She approaches her work with reverence and integrity in support of you manifesting your dreams.

Laurie received a Bachelor’s in Social Work from New York University, summa cum laude, and a Master’s in Students with Disabilities from CUNY City College,  magna cum laude.
